Second bidding round - is now closed
We are delighted to announce that we have opened the application process for funding from the second year of the South East Alcohol Innovation Programme.
As with Year 1, we are seeking applications from all stakeholders across the South East.
Please note that the application and grant allocation process in Year 2 is different from the process in Yr 1.
From the range of excellent and exciting innovation projects that we ran in the first year of the programme, we have selected the top five that had the greatest impact – the “High Impact Innovation” models.
Each of the five models has been written up in the form of a brief service specification that sets out what they did, how they did it, what targets they set and how much funding they received.
We are now seeking bids from people to use the High Impact Innovation models as a basis from which to deliver their own project which add to or refine the initial model. Whether or not the original High Impact Innovation model was piloted in your area, we want you to take one of the models and apply for funds to roll-it out in your area.
Those who originally devised the High Impact models will be entitled to bid for funds to extend and further the work they have already been doing.
To apply for funds simply follow these 5 steps.
4. Select which of the models you wish to use
5. Use the grant form to submit your bid.
The deadline for grant applications is 5pm Wednesday 22nd September 2010.
Please note – we are not accepting speculative bids. All bids must be based on one of the five High Impact Innovation models.
Further information about bidding can be found in the Bidding Instructions section in the High Impact Innovations – Service Specification document.
FAQ's
What the maximum amount of money that we can bid for?
There is no maximum or minimum amount. However we have included what the previous innovations cost for each model and would expect some sort of similarity if you intend to deliver similar activity. If you are looking to operate on a wider scale than the models suggest you need to be clear why this is necessary.
Is it for one year funding only? And is it to be invested over a full year?
This funding stream is only available now and must be spent in 2010/11.
We would expect innovation programmes to take 3 -6 months only to prove their value - and then partnerships should be looking to mainstream the changes if they believe that they make an impact locally. We have found that enthusiasm of the innovators and the demonstration of results is usually enough to persuade others to make changes to practice, whether that be changing elements of provider services, replacing activity in job roles and/or levering funding from elsewhere.
And, is this the last year of any funding?
At the moment we do not know. Because of the changes to regional government infrastructure we have no idea what the future hold for funding.
Also, what is in the total available funding pot?
This may change as funding is finalised. Anything we allocate to your project in this round of applications would be guaranteed.
Are you targeting the most needy PCTs?
The goal is to impact on NI39 and that issue is more problematic in some area than others - The strength of idea and adaptation of the models is the first criteria for funding decisions.
